Happy Sunday! I’ve enjoyed a week off in between jobs and have ticked off the things on my to-do list that have been looming over my head for months. Here are my recommendations for what to read, listen to, eat, and do next time you’ve got a week off and nothin’ to do (as if).
READ. The newspaper. Yes, a real newspaper at your table with a warm cuppa in-hand. I prefer the Austin American-Statesman because they have a great crossword every day, but The Austin Chronicle will also do in a pinch.
LISTEN TO. Embedded, a new podcast from NPR reporter Kelly McEvers. It’s great, short-form investigative journalism that is sure to satisfy listeners who enjoyed season one of Serial. Which is everyone.
EAT. Enjoy a sweet (or savory!) breakfast at Bribery Bakery in Mueller. This shop is their second location and it is the cutest, tastiest bakery around. Bribery is the perfect place for a Terrific Lady Brunch or a quick treat while strolling around nearby Lake Park. Warning: their cinnamon rolls are huge.
DO. Binge-watch crappy Food Network reality shows, like Guy’s Grocery Games. I loathe Guy Fieri and his obnoxiously bleached hair as much as the next guy…but I cannot tear myself away from his stupid gameshow.
